Conference Weekend
I love conference weekend! And not just because we spend the day at my parents eating lentil soup and homemade cinnamon rolls, but I always feel that the speakers are speaking directly to me. It makes me want to be an even better person, mom and spouse. And for a week or two afterward I do really well ;). Anyway, the big thing I got from conference this time is I need to do a lot better about teaching my little ones about the Saviour at home. So, I am looking for ways to do that through books, videos, pictures etc. If you have good ideas please, please pass them on!

Life...
Life in a house full of boys is fun! No, it really is. Not the Caden exhibits much boyness yet, but I am looking forward to it. And not that Nathan is very adventurous, and he is scared of just about everything, but he'll get better, right? Now, Scott, he is about as male as they come. His compliments consist of me telling him what to say then him trying to put into his own words and butchering it horribly. But what can I say, I love my life.
So, Caden is starting to go poo-poo on his own (crowd cheers), but he is still fairly colicky (crowd boos). At his last appointment he was 11 lbs. 8 oz. which is 25% for his age.
Nathan is my little comedian (not the he tries to be funny, he just is!). He amazes me every day with new words and with the knowledge he is gaining (better start watching my mouth ;) ). His latest thing is to want to pray before he takes a bite of anything and before naps as well as bedtime (I think it is specifically to prolong awake time there). Oh, to have a child's faith! He keeps me and Scott on track.
Scott and I are still very sleep deprived and trying very hard not to take it out on each other. I mowed my first lawn ever (sad I know), and he is still really working hard at work as well as finishing his application to grad school (he wants to get his MBA and USAA will pay for it). I am still nursing and losing weight extremely slowly ( 3 pounds in 3 weeks... I know, I know, that is actually healthy).Anyway, as a whole we are doing fabulously, here are some random pictures.

36 hour days...
I wish we had 36 hours in a day, maybe then I could get everything I wanted to do done. Hahaha.
So, the Caden update is, taking milk out of my diet has helped some, but not enough, poor thing. I recently learned however that when you take dairy out of your diet for a babies intestinal health you are trying to avoid the milk proteins whey and casein not the milk sugar lactase. My friend Karrie told me that she took everything even cooked with dairy out of her diet and after talking with a couple of people that is what you are supposed to do. So phase two of operation no-dairy has begun and it stinks. Hopefully my baby will benefit, though, I hope.
My dad will probably get after me for posting it on my blog because he really hates excess attention, but I think we could all use the prayers. We recently learned that a bump on my dads adorable bald head is actually cancerous. It is a form of skin cancer, but it is in the early stages. He will have a minor surgery on October 4th to find out if he needs more surgery to remove anything else (or something like that, I really am not sure what I am talking about). Anyway, so our family could use some extra prayers right now.
We celebrated Scott's birthday last weekend. He turned 28 on the 11th of September. My parents watched the boys while we used our season passes to Sea World and went and rode all the coasters. It was a fun couple of hours. There were no lines and we were like little kids rushing from ride to ride and riding them over and over. It was fun. Afterward my parents bought Rudy's and I made Scotty a cake. I had bought three different icing colors, but they didn't put the blue one in the bag. So he got red and green, very christmasy. Oh well, we had a good time.
My dad decided to throw my mom a surprise birthday party for her 50th yesterday and I was in charge of decorating and greeting guests while my bro Jonny and Dad got her out of the house. I had 40 minutes to decorate before my parents got home, and thanks to all the party comers' help it was a huge success.
Scott is doing amazing at his job as always. He is much like my dad in that he likes to hang out in the background, even at work. Turns out he is better known than he thought when at a training meeting people he didn't know pointed him out as the person who became a senior (asst. manager) faster than anyone. He did get 4 promotions in his first 8 months at USAA. He is amazing at what he does. His first manager (who promoted him three of the four times) just became a director, so we are hoping within a year he will be promoted to manager.
Nathan has his first cold in a long time. He is miserable and I am having to relearn how to take care of sickos. Of course he immediately passed his snotty nose to Caden. One nice thing is that my daddy's boy really likes his mama when he is sick so I get extra cuddle time :). Other than that he is growing like a weed and eating us out of house and home. His newest favorite activity is coloring, and man can he color. Every color imaginable is on every page. I will have to scan some in and post them for all to see. He is my little artist!
As for me, I am just trying to catch up on sleep and try to keep up with this fast paced world. I gave up on my last diet because of the no-dairy diet I am doing now (it is very similar to the other diet). I am also doing core secrets, an awesome workout on the exercise ball. I am so sore! I have lost two pounds in the past two weeks so far. Hopefully that will continue and I will be back to my preprego weight in no time (okay so 18 weeks). I am trying to get out to the playgroup my old ward (and favorite, I miss you guys!) hosts every Thursday as well as the scrap night on Wednesday nights. It is so good for me to get out! I am such a socialite.
Anyhow, here are some pics from the past couple weeks.

So, Nathan had been holding Cade's hand and making him smile but I couldn't get Nathan to stay in the pictures. All of Cade's smiling is aimed at Nathan.

Nathan is learning to dress himself. Isn't this cute!!!
Why do boys feel the need to show their tongues!
Playing Halo at Scotty's party.
Grandma and happy Cade.

Blog Colors
So, I recently learned (thanks to my awesome friend Jaime!) how to change my blog colors (messing around with html coding is fun! and a bit scary...). So you may notice that I have a new theme every week or day... or minute :) . Yeah!!!

Losing Weight
So, before I got pregnant with Caden I successfully lost 33 pounds. I have been debating about when I am going to go back on my diet, and realized that it is only a couple of months before we will be taking Christmas pictures. Sooo, here I go again. Today is day two, and I am determined to make it my two weeks without bread of any kind or sugar. Watching "The biggest Loser" and making my outfits on polyvore keeps me going. So here is my before picture.
Say goodbye to fat Christine!
My Favorite Websites
So, I have been finding all these cool websites (mostly by stealing from other people's blog lists) that I want to tell everyone about. First is the Delight website. It is a website that people submit fun and interesting items that Delight then puts on sale for a day. They have a new item everyday but only keep thirty or so in stock. Once it is out of stock they don't sell that item anymore. This is where I found my reusable grocery bags. They are also always looking for people to contribute items they have seen, definitely worth a looksie.
The Solutions website is an awesome site that I got from my friend Jaime's list. It is all about items that help to simplify your life. They have everything from kitchen gadgets to closet organizers. I love to organize and simplify my so this is definitely one of my favorites.
Okay, so my latest and coolest find is the Designing Outfits website. It takes the clothing items from dozens of different stores and you can mix and match them to make your outfit before you buy them. It is so addicting. This is my favorite outfit I have made so far.

So after you have all made awesome outfits, I want to see them!

Scott's Birthday
There are so many things that I have been wanting to write about lately, but haven't had the chance until now. So, here are a few stories.
We celebrated Scott's 28th birthday on Tuesday, September 11. We decided that our house was both our birthday presents for the next few years :) . But I did get him some treats at the store. I asked Nathan to take them one by one to Scott and tell him, "Happy Birthday!" He did a great job saying, "Happy! Happy!" After he gave the last treat to Scott he was having so much fun he started bringing him random things from the kitchen. It was so funny. Nathan provides such good comic relief.

Caden Problems
So, I haven't been able to update much lately due to lack of sleep, screaming babies, and Dr's appointments. So, here it goes. I finally admitted to myself in a very emotional, upsetting sort of way that Caden reminds me very much of Ethan- and not in a good way. He doesn't have BMs on his own, and cries a lot. I hurt so much for him and have done everything I can to make sure he is comfortable. But I finally had enough and took him to the pediatrician. I am so grateful I interviewed pediatricians before Nathan was born. Dr. Beatty was awesome and it didn't take long for her to recommend us to a Gastroenterologist (poop Doc). We saw Dr. Brigman today and she was just as awesome as Dr. Beatty. She was so concerned for Caden who had a pushing/screaming episode in front of her. She did an internal exam and ordered x-rays. The result: His bowels are not impacted (yea!), and he didn't have an abnormal amount of poo-poo or gas (yea!), but he does have a very tight rectum. So, the Dr. is having me give Cade milk of magnesia until we see the surgeons to get some dilation instruments on the 25th. If that doesn't work then I we will have to do a three day trial with nutramigen formula and hope that Caden will go back to the breast if that doesn't help. It is so comforting that things are getting checked out. I just hope that I won't have to give up nursing, but anything to help my poor baby. On a happier note he weighs 10 lbs. 3 oz. and is 21 inches long. Yea! My biggest baby ever. I love his little rolls! So here are a couple of random pictures of my beautiful boys!

Okay, so he was smiling when I went to grab the camera. I decided to shoot a few picture anyway. If I didn't take pictures of him crying, I probably wouldn't have any.

Newborns...
So, not much has been going on in our lives lately. Caden is keeping us pretty tired and we are always trying to find time to take naps. Makes for a pretty boring life. I have started to get out more. I went to a friend's baby shower and this months book club (we read Harry Potter 7!). I am trying to get Nathan to our weekly playgroups and my new ward is starting a 45 min. music class on Mondays that will start next week.
Nathan is getting more talkative everyday. He is now stringing four-five words together and making sentences. Half the time we have to really think about what he is saying because he is learning new words everyday. He is such a fun kid to be around, so social.
Scott has decided to go back to school in the spring to get an MBA. USAA will pay for all of it as long as he is working there full time and it can be used for the company (business type education). I am also going to try and be starting school again then too. I just have to find someone to watch the boys for me. It will be a busy spring.
So here are some of our latest pictures.

So I went to go throw a diaper away and came back to Nathan trying to pick up Caden. I decided to help him, but Caden wasn't so sure about it.
