Caden Problems

So, I haven't been able to update much lately due to lack of sleep, screaming babies, and Dr's appointments. So, here it goes. I finally admitted to myself in a very emotional, upsetting sort of way that Caden reminds me very much of Ethan- and not in a good way. He doesn't have BMs on his own, and cries a lot. I hurt so much for him and have done everything I can to make sure he is comfortable. But I finally had enough and took him to the pediatrician. I am so grateful I interviewed pediatricians before Nathan was born. Dr. Beatty was awesome and it didn't take long for her to recommend us to a Gastroenterologist (poop Doc). We saw Dr. Brigman today and she was just as awesome as Dr. Beatty. She was so concerned for Caden who had a pushing/screaming episode in front of her. She did an internal exam and ordered x-rays. The result: His bowels are not impacted (yea!), and he didn't have an abnormal amount of poo-poo or gas (yea!), but he does have a very tight rectum. So, the Dr. is having me give Cade milk of magnesia until we see the surgeons to get some dilation instruments on the 25th. If that doesn't work then I we will have to do a three day trial with nutramigen formula and hope that Caden will go back to the breast if that doesn't help. It is so comforting that things are getting checked out. I just hope that I won't have to give up nursing, but anything to help my poor baby. On a happier note he weighs 10 lbs. 3 oz. and is 21 inches long. Yea! My biggest baby ever. I love his little rolls! So here are a couple of random pictures of my beautiful boys!

Okay, so he was smiling when I went to grab the camera. I decided to shoot a few picture anyway. If I didn't take pictures of him crying, I probably wouldn't have any.

So sorry to hear about the little man's problems, but I'm glad that things are progressing forward, (or outward in Caden's case!). Hopefully you'll be able to get a little sleep now.

glad to hear you are getting it all checked out but sad to hear it isn't going perfectly! it sounds like all the things they will have to do are tedious on your end... so glad your mom is close to help!

Poor little Caden and Nelson family. That is so sad. It doesn't sound like a very fun round of events coming up for you guys! I am glad that they are trying to get things figured out for Him though!
